Dynamic positioning
no, this isn't some kinky post on a new sex position.
it's my piece of trivia for the day...something i got while researching an article i wrote.
what's dynamic positioning?
it's how ships stay in one positioning by using its thrusts and propellers in parts of the ocean too deep for anchoring.
now come to think of it, some words in that sentence do leave room for imagination. =P
it's amazing how much information you can get while researching stories you're writing.
i was reading up on whether companies should place shareholders or employees first as a blog topic and chanced upon a write-up which said employee ownership could be counterproductive.
that gave me a whole new insight to my work blog, which is contrary to the popular belief that a company can succeed by making employees shareholders and by doing so, make them accountable to well...themselves.
you can check that out on investorcentral.blogspot.com.
on a separate note, my job requires us to look good on camera.
so the boss brought in his friend of a make-up artist, who gave us a crash course in using make-up for the screen.
the team had great fun (in spite of the nagging nose congestion i had) and curtis was especially happy with his do. =P
we're working with an exciting medium that's threatening to take over the world, if not just television.
i love my job to bits. =)
